Rhianna & Conor’s Boho Wedding at Asylum Chapel & AMP Studios

Some weddings are elegant and polished. Some are big, traditional affairs. And then there are weddings like Rhianna and Conor’s, full of personality, amazing music, handmade details and the kind of relaxed atmosphere that makes everyone feel like they're part of it.

This was such a fun wedding to coordinate.

From a ceremony at the incredible Asylum Chapel to a laid-back reception at AMP Studios, Rhianna and Conor created a day that felt completely their own. Boho styling, vintage rugs, disco balls, street food, live music and lots of personal touches came together to create a wedding that was cool without ever feeling overly styled.

And I have to give a special mention to their music choices. Their playlist spoke directly to my childhood!

A Seriously Impressive DIY Wedding

Before I even talk about the wedding day, we need to talk about Rhianna's DIY skills.

The couple had access to AMP Studios the day before the wedding and did most of the reception styling themselves, with Rhianna creating so many of the details by hand.

She even dyed the table runners and napkins herself to get exactly the colour she wanted.

That pretty much sums up the whole wedding.

Rather than picking a standard wedding colour and trying to fit their ideas around it, Rhianna knew what she wanted and created it.

By the time I arrived on the wedding morning, they'd already done a huge amount of the work. I came in to add the finishing touches, check the tablescape and make sure everything was ready before attention turned to the ceremony.

Long banquet tables were dressed with the hand-dyed runners and napkins, candlesticks, dried flowers, foliage and little apothecary-style bottles and vases. Fairy lights added another layer of warmth, while bunting and more playful details stopped everything from feeling too formal.

It had a relaxed, colourful, slightly eclectic boho feel that worked perfectly in AMP Studios.

Styling Their Asylum Chapel Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Asylum Chapel in Peckham, and this was the part of the wedding I styled for Rhianna and Conor.

We had a very short setup window, so this was definitely one of those moments where having a clear plan beforehand mattered!

The chapel is already such an incredible space that it didn't need to be overloaded with décor. Instead, we worked with the character of the building.

One of my favourite details was the aisle.

Rather than one traditional aisle runner, we used a collection of patterned vintage-style rugs, staggered and slightly overlapping all the way towards the altar.

It looked SO good.

The mismatched rugs brought in that relaxed boho feel while still allowing the history and atmosphere of Asylum Chapel to do most of the talking.

At the altar, disco balls surrounded by foliage sat on the chapel's pedestals. Ribbon ran alongside the aisle, with a simply styled signing table completing the setup.

It was a little bit boho, a little bit disco and completely Rhianna and Conor.

A Ceremony Led by the People They Love

There was a real sense throughout this wedding that the people closest to Rhianna and Conor weren't simply guests.

They were part of the day.

One of their friends sang Rhianna down the aisle, which made an already atmospheric ceremony feel even more personal.

After the ceremony came confetti and group photographs before guests enjoyed cocktails and canapés at the chapel.

We then had another quick turnaround behind the scenes.

The rugs and ribbons were cleared away while the foliage and disco balls remained, allowing the chapel to transition from ceremony setup to a more relaxed space for photographs and drinks.

Then it was time for everyone to make their way over to AMP Studios for the party.

Disco Balls, Dumplings and a Very Good Playlist

The disco ball details from the ceremony carried through into the wider feel of the wedding and suited the couple perfectly.

And then there was the music.

Rhianna and Conor made their reception entrance to Number One by Tinchy Stryder ft. N-Dubz, and at that point I knew this playlist was for me.

Their day also included music from The Wombats and The Beach Boys before Popmania took over for the evening.

It was nostalgic, fun and didn't feel like a playlist chosen because someone said, "these are the songs you're supposed to have at a wedding."

It sounded like them.

That was really the theme of the whole day.

A Wedding Made by Friends and Family

Another thing I loved about this wedding was how much their family and friends contributed.

One of Rhianna's friends made their wedding cake, while her grandmother made some of the desserts for the reception.

Rather than a formal sit-down wedding breakfast, guests could grab food from Chubby Dumpling's food truck, with Waffle Wands arriving later in the evening for dessert.

There were speeches from family, friends and the couple themselves, followed by cake cutting, their first dance and live music.

It all felt incredibly relaxed and communal.

And their guests were genuinely lovely, which always makes such a difference. There was a really warm atmosphere throughout the day, with everyone clearly there to celebrate Rhianna and Conor and have a good time.

A Wedding That Actually Felt Like Them

This is probably what I loved most about Rhianna and Conor's wedding.

Nothing felt like it had been added just because weddings are "supposed" to have it.

Rhianna hand-dyed her own linens because she wanted a particular colour.

They filled their ceremony aisle with overlapping rugs.

They mixed boho details with disco balls.

A friend sang Rhianna down the aisle.

Another friend made their wedding cake.

Grandma brought homemade desserts.

They served dumplings and waffles.

And their wedding entrance involved Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz.

What more could you want?

It was personal, creative, slightly unconventional and really good fun.

Coordinating Rhianna & Conor’s London Wedding

For me, this was also a great example of why wedding coordination isn't necessarily about taking control of everything a couple has created.

Sometimes it's about doing the opposite.

Rhianna and Conor had put so much of themselves into their wedding. They had their ideas, their DIY décor and the people they wanted involved.

My job was to step into what they'd created and help it all happen.

I added the finishing touches to their reception setup in the morning, styled their ceremony at Asylum Chapel, coordinated suppliers and timings, managed the transition between two venues and kept everything moving behind the scenes.

Once the ceremony was finished, we reset the chapel for drinks and photographs before getting guests across to AMP Studios and ready for Rhianna and Conor's reception entrance.

And then, once everything was where it needed to be, they could just enjoy it.

Exactly as it should be.
